Inhalt
The immense data demand for upcoming wireless communication standards, for example 5G or the even more advanced 6G, requires new concepts to handle the respective network throughput. Nowadays, conventional systems necessitate complex architectures with a high number of components to operate at different communication standards.
This thesis analyzes a system that reduces the number of the currently required components to a one-chip solution, functioning as a digital transmitter geared towards software defined radio systems in 5G. Here, a new concept is presented that is able to synthesize outputs, which are composed of various signals, concurrently modulated on the same carrier frequency. The combination of a core Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) circuit cointegrated with a power amplifier, named Riemann Pump, improves the signal-to-noise ratio of conventional DACs, while also improving the output power performance. Therefore, the Riemann Pump results in a signal generator that is capable of providing several watts of output power at radio frequencies to a 50 ? load environment. With the Riemann Pump it is possible to synthesize signals that find usage in the new radio standard in 5G communication.
